Riverchase Crossings
Riverchase Crossings is an 89,576 square-foot shopping center located on an 8.51-acre lot with 556 parking spaces at 1759–1791 Montgomery Highway, across from the Riverchase Galleria and facing Lorna Road in Hoover's Riverchase area.
The center was built in 1977 as an 85,000-square-foot Kmart location. A Bed Bath & Beyond store was constructed alongside it in the 1990s. The Kmart was one of 284 stores closed nationwide as part of the chain's bankruptcy reorganization in 2002.
Leasing agents Eason Graham & Sandner oversaw a 2003–2004 renovation that divided the former Kmart into three units, and rebuilding the former Kmart garden center into a new 5,000 square foot retail space. It was then that the name "Riverchase Crossings" was applied to the center. Charles & Vinzant Construction Co. was the contractor for the project. Michaels was the first tenant to sign on, moving from their former location at Riverchase Promenade which suffered from having only one access point.
In 2022 Riverchase Crossings was acquired by an affiliate of Livingston Properties of Warner Robbins, Georgia.
