Rodney Franklin

Rodney Franklin (born August 1, 1974 in Chicago, Illinois) was the interim pastor of the Baptist Church of the Covenant and is staff chaplain for UAB Hospital.

Franklin earned his bachelor of arts at Talladega College, then a Master's of Divinity from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta and a Doctor of Ministry degree from the United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. His first ministerial position after ordination was the associate pastorate of Mount Zion Congregational Church in Cleveland, Ohio. He has also served in Savannah, Georgia.

Franklin was called to serve Birmingham's First Congregational Christian Church in 1994. While there he organized an inter-church fellowship among congregations in Birmingham's Smithfield neighborhood. He has also served on committees at the regional and national levels of the United Church of Christ (UCC).

Franklin married Angela Balfour on December 15, 2007. He lives in Birmingham.
