Ronny Ragland

Ronny Lynn Ragland (born June 15, 1949 in Warrior; died November 22, 2017 in Tampa, Florida) was a tax accountant and musician.

Ragland was one of four sons born to Reverend Joseph Ragland and his wife, the former Charlsie Lorene White. He graduated from Warrior High School and the University of Alabama.

As a long-time Internal Revenue Service employee in Birmingham; New Orleans, Louisiana; Atlanta, Georgia; and Washington D.C.; Ragland became a leading agency authority on international corporate taxation. He was the author of several tax laws, codes, regulations, forms and audit guides.

Ragland was noted as a talented pianist and singer who performed with several Southern Gospel quartets. He also involved himself in restoring old homes and furniture pieces.

Ragland died in 2017 of multiple system atrophy. He was survived by his husband, Peter Mendoza, and two brothers.
