Ross Reid

Ross R. Reid (born in Bremen, Georgia) was a supervisor for Birmingham Electric Company.

Reid served in World War I and began his career with the company as a meter tester helper in 1917. He advanced to serviceman, meter tester, demand meter inspector, and foreman of field testers before being promoted to supervisor of the street lighting division on October 1, 1943. His department cleaned, repaired and repainted over 6,800 light fixtures on "white ways", highways, thoroughfares, underpasses, viaducts and intersections across the city and adjacent service areas, in coordination with city inspectors.

Reid and his daughter resided at 1113 7th Avenue West. His hobbies included fishing and drawing cartoons.
