Ruby

Ruby (born c. 2019 in San Diego, California) is a female reticulated giraffe housed at the Birmingham Zoo's "Trails of Africa" exhibit.

Ruby was born at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. She was transported to the Lincoln Children's Zoo in Lincoln, Nebraska in 2021, and arrived in Birmingham in November 2022 as a potential mate for Jalil under the AZA's "Species Survival Plan". She gave birth to a female in April 2024.
