The Salamander Festival is an annual event in Homewood sponsored by the Friends of Shades Creek since 2004.
The free festival combines entertainment and children's activities with environmental education. The festival highlights the Spotted salamander, a species that survives in protected habitats in the vicinity of Shades Creek.
The festival was originally held at the Homewood Senior Center on Grove Road, and later moved to Shades Valley Community Church
