Sam Star

Sam Star (born Samuel Scott Purkey January 24, 2000 in Leeds) is an actor and drag performer. and a contestant on season 17 of "RuPaul's Drag Race" on MTV. He identifies as male.

Purkey graduated from Leeds High School in 2018 and has worked at Glitz & Glamour in Pell City. He has also appeared in several Red Mountain Theatre productions. He was enrolled in musical theater at the University of Alabama, but dropped out due to the cost of textbooks.

As a drag performer, Star has performed at Al's on 7th been mentored by Trinity "The Tuck" Taylor.
