Scottie McClaney

Scottie Y. McClaney (born c. 1964) is a program manager, events director, consultant and founder of Peek-A-Boo Vision, a non-profit that helps kids access eye care and corrective lenses. She is a candidate for Birmingham City Council District 4, in the 2021 Birmingham municipal election.

McClaney grew up in Collegeville and performed in the marching band at Phillips High School. She completed her bachelor's in business administration at Stillman College and a master's in public administration at UAB in 2013. She worked at UAB as a continuing education program coordinator, a supplier diversity program administrator, and grants program manager and administrator. She founded enVISION Consulting in 2014 and began working as events director for Sloss Furnaces National Monument in 2015.

McClaney has served appointed terms on the boards of the Downtown Redevelopment Authority and the Birmingham Parking Authority. She has been active in the National Congress of Black Women, the League of Women Voters Birmingham Chapter and Alabama Democratic Women, and participated in the Emerge Alabama program.

As a candidate McClaney has pledged to improve the quality of life in District 4 through economic growth, accessible leadership, and strategic development. She has been endorsed by the Elect Black Women PAC and Building Bridges for America. Her largest campaign contributors are developer Michael Mouron, LaToya Waddy and Robin Wade.
