Sherman Collins Jr (born c. 1973 in Birmingham) is an insurance agent and property manager.

Collins grew up in Birmingham and graduated from Huffman High School. He earned a bachelor's in business administration at Samford University and worked in banking and insurance. He owns Scollin and Associates insurance agency and NewComers Reality property management. He is also a basketball coach for the Birmingham Storm and at Sun Valley Elementary School, and active in scouting.

Collins and his wife, Shanta Bender-Collins, have three children: Lauryn, John and Tyler. They attend 23rd Street Baptist Church. Collins is also a member of the Geometry Lodge No. 410 Ancient Free & Accepted Masons.

Collins won the Birmingham Board of Education District 1 seat in the 2013 Birmingham municipal election. His campaign focused on improving student performance and closing the system's "achievement gap" compared to other school districts. He was critical of the previous board for its failures and the threat of losing accreditation. After taking office, he was elected vice president by the other board members.

Collins challenged Lashunda Scales for the District 1 seat on the Birmingham City Council in the 2017 Birmingham municipal election. His platform emphasized public education, crime reduction, workforce development, business growth, and neighborhood investment. He lost that race by a 69%-31% margin.

Collins challenged Doug Ragland for his previous seat on the Birmingham Board of Education, District 1, during the 2021 Birmingham municipal election.
