The Shoppes at River Run is a $1.7 million shopping center developed by Moss Properties on a two-acre site adjacent to the Cahaba River at 3800 River Run Lane in Mountain Brook. The shopping center, which was completed in June 2006, is anchored by a 20,000 square-foot Piggly Wiggly store and cafe.

The project is notable for its extensive use of flood-control and runoff mitigation technology, installed to protect the Cahaba. The system combines a "BaySaver" runoff cleansing system and a "bioswale" of natural rock and vegetation which gradually releases water onto the river bank after rains. The combined system was desdigned by Jane Ross of Ross Land Design and civil engineer Stewart Perry. Mountain Brook provided $600,000 in tax deferment incentives to support the runoff mitigation.
