The annual Gardendale City Softball Tournament is a four-team bracket comprised of Gardendale’s police, fire, parks and public works departments. It is held each summer and games were played on Gardendale High School’s baseball field for the first three years and then moved to Upward Park in later years.

In 2018, the tournament was renamed to the North Jefferson Charity Softball Tournament and was expanded to include teams from several northern Jefferson County cities.

2020

The third annual North Jefferson Charity Softball Tournament was cancelled due to the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic.

2019

The second annual North Jefferson Charity Softball Tournament game was played at Upward Park on Saturday, August 24, 2019. Teams competed from Gardendale, Kimberly, Adamsville, Trussville, and the Jefferson County Sheriffs Department. The winner was the "Nozzle Jocks" team comprised of members of the Gardendale Fire Department. Proceeds benefited the Covenant Rescue Group.

2018

The first annual North Jefferson Charity Softball Tournament game was played at Upward Park on Saturday, August 11, 2018. Teams competed from Gardendale, Kimberly, Adamsville, Fultondale, and Warrior. The winner was the "Nozzle Jocks" team comprised of members of the Gardendale Fire Department. Proceeds benefited the Just Keep Smiling organization.

2017

The third annual game was played on Saturday, August 12, 2017 and the winner was again the "Nozzle Jocks" team comprised of members of the fire department. Proceeds benefited Alabama Teen Challenge.

2016

The second annual game was played on Saturday, August 13, 2016 and the winner was again the "Nozzle Jocks" team comprised of members of the fire department. Proceeds benefited Cornerstone Ranch.

2015

The first game was played on Saturday, July 11, 2015 and the winner was the "Nozzle Jocks" team comprised of members of the fire department. Proceeds benefited the Playground of Miracles.
