Stan Palla

Stan Palla (born c. 1955 in Bedford, Texas) is a former executive director of Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve and director of the Red Rock Trail for the Freshwater Land Trust.

Palla graduated from high school in Bedford and earned his bachelor of science in urban forestry at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. He moved here in 1993 as an urban forester for the City of Birmingham, leaving that position in September 2001. He has also been a consultant for the Oakland, California-based Urban Releaf. He worked with the Alabama Urban Forestry Organization and is a former executive director of the Alabama Bicycle Coalition.
