Susan G. Komen North Central Alabama was the local affiliate of the Dallas, Texas-based Susan G. Komen for the Cure (formerly the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation), a national non-profit which supports research and public education about breast cancer. The organization is known for its annual "Race for the Cure" 5K road race fundraiser.

The North Central Alabama affiliate operated from offices at 1909 27th Avenue South in Homewood from the early 1990s to 2020. That year, following years of controversy and declining revenues, the national organization restructured itself with all operations carried out through its headquarters office.
