  • For sports articles like these where many different sources are utilized from the same medium, would it be acceptable to have a single citation like the one as follows as opposed to the multitude I will have listed when I complete this article? BTW, this will be the definitive source on-line for the short tenure of the Barracudas ;-)

Birmingham News archives, 1995 editions, online search. Accessed October 30, 2006. --Patriarca12 07:24, 31 October 2006 (PST)

  • I have been pulling my articles from the Lexis-Nexus at school, so they do not have a permanent link I can attach. Would it be acceptable to place the citation I have noted above on the main article page and move all of the actual newspaper citations to this page? It is important to have them visible somewhere, but I feel the list will become too cumbersome with well over 30 Birmingham News citations at the bottom of the page when I complete the article later this week. --Patriarca12 08:02, 31 October 2006 (PST)
  • Given what you have at your disposal, it might be better to use a parenthetical notation like (B'ham News - 10/21/1995) wherever a specific citation is appropriate and then the general bibliographic entry (as above) in the References section. But if you decide to skip on specific cites, that's ok too. The talk page shouldn't be used for bibliographies. --Dystopos 08:20, 31 October 2006 (PST)
  • Thanks for the idea! I will use the parenthetical notation you noted with the generic link at the bottom for all games played. --Patriarca12 07:08, 1 November 2006 (PST)
