Talk:Birmingham city center street grid

Road terminology

I have tried to be very careful in this article and, except for the term "street grid", only referred to east-west roads as "avenues" and north-south roads as "streets". When a term inclusive of both was needed, I used "road". Please keep this in mind when editing this article (and also for correcting any oversights on my part). This much care is not necessarily needed with every article in the wiki, but I felt it critical within this one. --Lkseitz 11:00, 2 February 2012 (PST)

Links

Let's think of where to link in to this article. From each street/avenue article downtown, I expect. Anything else? --Dystopos 19:57, 2 February 2012 (PST)

  • No, those are probably it. Unless some of the interstate/highway articles fit in. I figured it'd go something like, "20th Street North is a north-south street in the center of downtown Birmingham which functions as Birmingham's 'main street'." --Lkseitz 07:52, 3 February 2012 (PST)
    • Would bracketing "north-south street" make it clearer what we're going to be able to explain in the link? --Dystopos 08:30, 3 February 2012 (PST)
      • Something along those lines occurred to me after I hit save, but I was too lazy to go back and change it, which is a long way of saying, "yes, I think so." --Lkseitz 10:59, 3 February 2012 (PST)
