OK I see the GFDL but don't we need to cite from where it originated? --Wheresdib 11:57, 6 November 2006 (PST)

  • Yes. I got interrupted by my lunch appointment. --Dystopos 12:14, 6 November 2006 (PST)
  • How dare your lunch take precedent over the wiki! :P --Wheresdib 12:29, 6 November 2006 (PST)
  • Dangit, I've been wanting some more meatloaf. I just sat here and ate leftovers. Funny we're talking food on a defunct cafeteria's talk page. Mmmmm meatloaf. --Wheresdib 12:58, 6 November 2006 (PST)

Britling

I didn't see a mention in the Britling Cafetera entry, but I remember there was a Britling's location in that shopping center in Mt. Brook Village where Browdy's was until last year and where the Western supermarket still is. As I recall the Britling's was located in the general area where the late Browdy's was or maybe a little to the left of that location (heading down to Dragonfly). This would have been in the '60s sometime, as I recall. Can anyone confirm this?--ExPat 11:24, 8 April 2010 (PST)

  • I've got the B'ham Historical Society's book on Mtn Brook Village at home. I'll check tonight. --Dystopos 11:04, 8 April 2010 (PDT)
    • Great! Maybe this is stating the obvious, but having a multi-decade run of Birmingham phone books would be an invaluable resource in answering questions like this. Does anyone (Bham P.L.?) have such a run of phone books? I used to trust my memory, but would love to have it backed up with empirical evidence like phone book entries. --ExPat 13:08, 8 April 2010 (PDT)
      • I don't think the B'ham Public Library has phone books, but they do have city directories, which perform the same function. They're somewhere in the Linn-Henley Research Library. I could tell you exactly where they were 25 years ago, but that's not much help now. :-) I'm pretty sure they have over 100 years worth. --Lkseitz 12:35, 8 April 2010 (PDT)
        • Well, I've updated us with everything that's in the BHS book. --Dystopos 19:04, 8 April 2010 (PDT)
