Costa & Head

Once we have the info, we need to at least add a link to, if not some discussion of, Costa & Head's revitalization efforts of the mid-1980s around the Alabama Theatre. They were responsible for the planters that took up parking spaces along 3rd Avenue North and other streets in the area. They also installed gates to block off streets in that area (all access around 3rd & 19th Street, at the least) at night to allow pedestrians to roam freely. IIRC, there was also supposed to be a fountain that would shoot up out of the street at that intersection (and possibly others). The planters, gates, and drain grates for the fountains have all been removed now. (I think the planters were the first to go because the Alabama needed more parking around it.) Unfortunately I have no documentation, only anecdotes that I recall from my days of volunteering at the Alabama. --Lkseitz 07:43, 29 March 2014 (PDT)
