Experiment

I have a lot of doubts about this article. First off, it should probably be named to indicate that it's about the 1976 concert, but then I'd have to find a different way to write the lead. There is some value in having the cross-indexing, but I'm pretty sure we don't need to link back here from every mention of Presley. Thoughts? --Dystopos 20:31, 9 December 2008 (PST)

  • My $0.02: Take your own lead from the plane crash articles. Just name it what it was, "1976 Elvis Presley concert" or whatever. The lead won't take much of a rewrite. --Wheresdib 20:44, 9 December 2008 (PST)
    • I'd agree with Wheresdib, but the "Other connections" section wouldn't really fit then. I certainly see the appeal of articles such as this and they're a great way to bring people to the site. But while it does answer a legitimate question -- "did Elvis every play Birmingham?" -- it also presents a slippery slope problem. Of course, until we get more contributors, I suppose that's not really an issue. Uh, did I manage to state anything worthwhile in all that? --Lkseitz 08:23, 10 December 2008 (PST)
