Incorporation date

There's a photo of a plaque at the top of the town web site showing an incorporation date of May 17, 1944. But their own history page says 1945, as we currently do in the article. Is this merely the difference between the vote to incorporate and the recognition by the state? --Lkseitz 14:58, 27 March 2009 (PDT)
