Central Park name

Was the park ever officially known as Central Park, or was that just the name on the original plans? In the "Brief History," White's Downtown Birmingham (2nd edition) says it was Central Park on the original plans. The section specifically about the park, however, starts out calling it Capitol Park and mentions it was renamed from Capitol to Woodrow Wilson. --Lkseitz 05:36, 31 October 2006 (PST)

I believe it was called Capitol Park when it was actually laid out. But I'd consider "Central Park" to be one of its names, given that the Plan of Birmingham is notable. It should be disambiguated from the present Central Park in the Central Park neighborhood. --Dystopos 07:21, 31 October 2006 (PST)
