First game at Legion Field

This entry says, "He coached Woodlawn against Phillips High School in the first game ever played at Legion Field in 1927." All the sources I've seen on the Web, including the city's Legion Field page, say the first game played at Legion Field was Howard College vs. Birmingham-Southern. It's possible the city got it wrong and everyone else copied the misinformation from there, but seems unlikely.
