This article is about the pizza restaurant with locations in Riverchase and Parkside. For the restaurant on U.S. Highway 280, see Tortuga's Cafe.

Tortuga's Homemade Pizza is a pizzeria specializing in Chicago-style deep dish pizzas. It opened in 1999 in the Galleria Trace Plaza shopping center at 2801 John Hawkins Parkway in Hoover. The restaurant is owned by Matt Vizcaino and his parents.

At one time the Tortuga's Cafe on Meadow Lake Drive off of U.S. Highway 280 was operated as a franchise location of Tortuga's, but the business relationship was later severed.

In late 2014 Tortuga's announced plans to open a second location on 2nd Avenue South near Regions Field in Birmingham. Vizcaino said that it made sense to keep the Birmingham Barons as neighbors as the business expanded.

The planned opening of the downtown location was delayed for more than a year. The restaurant won approval for its building renovations from the Birmingham Design Review Committee in April 2016.
