3rd Presb photo

You've been busy! Excellent work. I don't know how I got "red and gold" as WHS's colors. You're absolutely right. As to the photo of 3rd Presb., if you took the picture, that needs to be indicated on the image page. You might also want to use the template Template:CC Image to make clear the license. If the image is not yours, or you dont want to use the CC license, we need to discuss the options. --Dystopos 19:33, 25 November 2006 (PST)

Yeah, the pic of Third Pres is from the website - i didn't take it. i'm a newbie to the wiki world, so i don't know all the rules. should i get permission from the pastor/administration of the church? is it in the public forum? also, i scanned the cover of Religion in Shoes for the Brother Bryan page - what's the rule there? the pics aren't essential to the articles, they're just for looks. i'm also not sure how to reply to you, so i just edited this page. i hope you see it. please advise. --Sagefats 22:16, 25 November 2006 (CST)

  • I see everything. ;) -- The deal with appropriating copyrighted work is pretty serious. Right now we're not set up to reproduce copyrighted work even WITH permission, much less without (See Bhamwiki:Copyrights). The exception is for images used under the "Doctrine of Fair Use". Wikipedia has a pretty good discussion of that subject here. What I'll do is delete the photo and remove the book cover from the article, but keep a link to it from the bibliography. I might have a photo of 3rd Presbyterian of my own that I can dig up when I get home -- or if you have a camera and are in the neighborhood, feel free to jump on it. --Dystopos 20:22, 25 November 2006 (PST)
