Vernon Whitaker

Vernon Edelen Whitaker (born 1881 in North Carolina; died October 21, 1929 in Birmingham) was a general agent for the Atlanta, Birmingham & Atlantic Railroad and later a real estate investor in the city.

Whitaker married the former Marie Smith and had two children, Mary Sloss and Vernon Jr. He died after a long illness at his home at 10 Ridge Drive in October 1929 and was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery.
