Vestavia Hills Methodist Church

Vestavia Hills Methodist Church is an independent Methodist congregation founded as part of the Methodist Church in 1952 and located 2061 Kentucky Avenue in central Vestavia Hills. From 1968 until 2022 it was known as Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church. Until December 10, 2022 it was part of the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church (from 1968) and Methodist Church (prior to 1968).

On November 13, 2022, the congregation voted to disaffiliate with the United Methodist Church with 1,021 ballots cast to disaffiliate and 262 ballots against (thus, 79.5% in favor). To disaffiliate a majority of at least 2/3 was required. This disaffiliation was approved by the conference on December 10, 2022. The church is independent. It has not joined another Methodist denomination or network.
