Walking the Kids

"Walking the Kids" is a bronze sculpture group by Rosie Sandifer which was installed at The Summit in 1995. At the time of the commission, Sandifer worked in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois.

The life-size freestanding sculpture depicts five children following a Scottish terrier who is tugging on his leash.

Sandifer has two other sculptures at the Summit: "Catch Me If You Can", also installed in 1995, and "Goose Gait", installed in 1999. The first casting of "Walking the Kids" was commissioned by PAC Realty for the Courtland Estates subdivision in Bryan, Texas in 1992. Later castings have also gone on display at the Na’aina Kai Botanical Gardens in Kauai, Hawaii; at Camp Timberline in Fort Collins, Colorado; at KVC Behavioral Healthcare in Kansas City, Kansas; and at the Ronald McDonald House in Oak Lawn, Illinois.
