Walton Goggins
Walton Sanders Goggins Jr (born November 10, 1971 in Birmingham) is an actor and film producer best known for portraying Detective Shane Vendrell on the television series The Shield from 2002 to 2008, born-again outlaw Boyd Crowder on the series "Justified" from 2010 to 2015, and Sheriff Chris Mannix in Quentin Tarantino's "The Hateful Eight" (2015).
Goggins is the son of Walter and Janet Long Goggins, and was raised in Lithia Springs, Georgia. He attended Lithia Springs High School and spent one year at Georgia Southern University before moving to Los Angeles. He met Ray McKinnon while working on one of his first films, Murder in Mississippi.
Goggins appeared in small roles in a variety of films and series in the 1990s, including The Next Karate Kid (1994) and The Crow:Salvation (2000). In 2001 he and McKinnon formed "Ginny Mule Pictures" to produce a short film. The result, The Accountant, won the Academy Award for Best Live Short Action Film in 2003. Other films produced or co-produced by Ginny Mule include Chrystal (2004), Randy and the Mob (2007), and That Evening Sun (2009). Goggins and McKinnon also developed the SundanceTV series "Rectify".
Goggins married filmmaker Nadia Conners, the mother of his son, Augustus, in 2011. The couple have been involved in environmental and humanitarian work through Global Green USA. Goggins is a partner with former camera operator Matthew Alper in the Los Angeles-based Mulholland Distilling.
