Wellspot

Wellspot Medical Clinics was a Hoover-based chain of health-care outlets staffed by nurse practitioners and located in supermarkets or other retail locations.

The company was founded in February 2006 with offices at 2125 Data Office Park, but closed 13 months later for lack of funding. A new owner reopened in May 2007, closing again at the end of February 2008.

Most of Wellspot's retail locations were in BI-LO stores in South Carolina and Tennessee. The company's Birmingham-area locations were in the Bruno's supermarkets at the Summit and Riverchase along with a clinic in the Regions-Harbert Plaza. There was also a BI-LO location in Red Bank, Tennessee and three clinics in Winn-Dixie supermarkets in Florida.
