William P. Wyatt

William Pearson Wyatt (born March 5, 1853 in Lowndes County, Mississippi; died September 24, 1928 in Birmingham) was a saloonkeeper and real estate executive.

Wyatt was the son of Riley and Ann Golson Wyatt of Lowndes County, Mississippi. He married the former Ida Belle Griffin there on March 2, 1875. She bore him 7 children before her death in 1895.

He served as Justice of the Peace and acting coroner in Crawford, Mississippi before moving to Birmingham in the late 1880s. He ran for the office of Jefferson County Coroner in 1891. In the 1890s he was proprietor of the saloon at 1301 4th Avenue North and resided at 1216 4th Avenue North]]. After prohibiition he engaged in buying and selling real estate. He retired from business in the late 1910s.

Wyatt resided at 124 59th Street North. He died from a heart attack during a meeting at the Birmingham Trust & Savings Bank in 1928. He was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, with James A. Bryan officiating.
