Willie Arrington

Willie B. Arrington (born c. 1916) was a three-term member of the Alabaster City Council, representing Ward 1 from 1981 to 1992.

He moved to Alabaster from Montgomery in 1942 and later became a community leader, serving on the Alabaster Suburban League, and on the city's boards of adjustment, utility boards, and personnel board.

Arrington and his late wife Corene had 10 children. He has been a long-time deacon at Liberty Baptist Church in Alabaster.

In 2009 the city renamed 5th Avenue Southeast off of Shelby County Highway 11 "Arrington Avenue" in his honor.
