Willie Scruggs

Willie C. Scruggs was a right-handed pitcher for the 1949, 1952, 1958 and 1959 Birmingham Black Barons.

Scruggs left the club in mid-1949 to join the Louisville Buckeyes. In 1950 he played for the Cleveland Buckeyes and Houston Eagles. He started 1951 with the New Orleans Eagles before returning to Birmingham in 1952. After that season he left organized baseball for five years, then pitched again for Birmingham in 1958 and part of 1959 before retiring for good.
