Wright’s Chapel United Methodist Church
Wright’s Chapel United Methodist Church was a congregation of the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church located at 2133 32nd Avenue North in North Birmingham. In 2013 it merged with Douglasville United Methodist Church and Mt Pleasant United Methodist Church to form New Beginnings United Methodist Church. The Wright's Chapel building became the home of the new church.
The church was founded in 1922 by Pastor J. W. Wright and was part of the Central Alabama Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church a segregated regional association for African Americans in the national (or "northern") Methodist denomination.
An earlier building was located behind the present one at 2130 31st Avenue North. The current building was erected in 1989.
