This is a List of Birmingham homicides in 1961. It includes homicide cases occurring within the city limits during the calendar year. Note that not all homicides are ultimately ruled to be murder in courts of law.
- December 12: Leola Coker, 57, was found with her husband, Zeb, at their home at 312 Omega Street. They were both dead from gunshot wounds and a .38 pistol was found in Zeb Coker's hands. Police detectives C. B. Golden and B. A. Allison and coroner J. O. Butler determined the deaths to be a murder-suicide.
