Lutsandvo (called Luti, born February 14, 2010 at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park) is a male African elephant (Loxodonta africana), currently residing at the Birmingham Zoo's Trails of Africa exhibit.
Luti is named for the Swazi word "lútsândvo", meaning "love". He was the second elephant born to his mother, Ndula, and the 5th sired by his father, Mabu. Both of his parents were born wild in Southern Africa. He was the first calf born at San Diego's main elephant yard with the rest of the herd present. He weighed 224 pounds at birth.
Luti and his half-brother, Ingadze, were transferred from San Diego to the 'bachelor herd" at the Birmingham Zoo in 2019 as part of the AZA's Species Survival Plan.
