Magic City Flickr Group
- The Magic City Flickr Group is a great resource for photographic images for BhamWiki. Photos that are published under a compatible Creative Commons license (Attribution, Attribution-ShareAlike, Attribution-NoDerivs) can be used under the terms of those licenses. For other photographs, you can ask the creator to change the license or to grant permission. In the latter case, all credit and restrictions should be fully explained on the image page, and the "{{Permission}}" template should be applied.
Dave's Place
- Dave Sibley of Dave's Place has kindly granted us permission to use photos from his site. The images should not be altered or cropped (but can be resized). The image page should include proper attribution, a link back to the page the photo was taken from, and the template "{{Dave911}}". --Dystopos 11:11, 12 September 2007 (PDT)
Birmingham Public Library Digital Collections
- Melinda Shelton of the Birmingham Public Library has clarified that the images and documents published as part of their Digital Collections can be used on BhamWiki. Image captions should include this credit line: "Courtesy Birmingham Public Library Archives" and have a link back to the permanent URL of the original. The image page should contain the same credit and link, along with the "{{BPL permission}}" template. --Dystopos 13:57, 25 September 2007 (PDT)
Carol M. Highsmith Archive
- Photographer Carol M. Highsmith has donated her photographs, restriction free, to the Library of Congress. There are 3,948 images from Alabama in the archive (link) Credit "George F. Scooter Bill/Waymarking
We have permission from user "Scooter Bill", real name Dennis Lesley, to use any pictures he has uploaded to Waymarking.com for BhamWiki purposes, as long as he is credited. The date of the listing will show on the page, that is the date he took the picture. An example is McAdory, Thomas House, Bessemer, Alabama. The "Posted by" field shows "Scooter Bill", and the "Date Posted" is 7/17/07. Please note that currently "Scooter Bill" is the only user we have permission from, we should not use other users' images without their permission. --Wheresdib 14:09, 30 December 2013 (PST)
