Alabama State House of Representatives, District 42 is a District of the Alabama House of Representatives which covers most of Chilton County and parts of northern Autauga County. It includes the municipalities of Billingsley, Clanton, Maplesville, Pine Level and Thorsby along with most of Jemison and parts of Marbury, Millbrook and Prattville.
Before redistricting in 1984, District 42 was in western Jefferson County and included Adamsville, Concord, Dolomite, Hueytown, Mulga, Pleasant Grove, and Sylvan Springs.
As of the 2010 Census, the District has 48,338 residents and is 82% white and 12% black.
