Gate of Linn's Crossing Cemetery in May 2007

The Linn's Crossing Cemetery adjoins Antioch Baptist Church on Linn's Crossing Road in the community of Linn's Crossing in northwest Jefferson County. It was established in 1880, 24 years after the congregation was founded, when A. C. and R. J. Linn's infant daughter died.

The deed for the cemetery in 1898 stated that James Hand and his wife, S. J. Hand, paid H. F. Summerville $20.00 for the land for the purpose of a public graveyard, with the knowledge that it had been previously used for that purpose for many years.

The cemetery was surveyed by Housten E. Thomas, Mrs Jimmie Martin Thomas, Sr and Jr and incorporated into the 1982 publication Cemeteries of Jefferson County, Vol. I, compiled by Marylin Davis Hahn.
