The Vulcans Community Awards are a group of awards "recognizing civic pride, progress and leadership in the Birmingham region." The program, initiated in 2014, is coordinated by the Vulcan Park Foundation and serves as a fund-raiser for the educational mission of the Vulcan Park & Museum.
The public is invited to nominate individuals in five categories, from which a selection committee determines a "Vulcan Award" nominee for the best candidate and "Spear Award" nominations for the runners-up. Winners are honored at an annual banquet at The Club.
