Birmingham Episcopal Area of the United Methodist Church is the geographical territory served by the bishop whose residence is in Birmingham. Some episcopal areas include more than one annual conference, many only have one. The only annual conference of the United Methodist Church in the Birmingham Episcopal Area is the North Alabama Conference. So, effectively, the Birmingham Episcopal Area is equivalent to the North Alabama Annual Conference.

The offices of the Birmingham Episcopal Area are in the United Methodist Center on the campus of Birmingham-Southern College.
