The purpose of this category is to create a "yearbook"-like gallery of portraits. To that end, I'm trying to leave out things like book-covers, baseball cards, CD covers or statuary that serve the purpose of portraits for some articles. I'm also omitting action shots unless they are so portrait-like as to fit well with the posed portraits. 3/4 or full-body portraits that are clearly posed to serve the purpose, though they don't really fit the "yearbook" scheme, are acceptable since they clearly perform the same function. This creates some gray areas, so feel free to be bold or to open a discussion --[[User:Dystopos|Dystopos]] 12:41, 26 March 2009 (PDT)

Purpose

The purpose of this category is to create a "yearbook"-like gallery of portraits. To that end, I'm trying to leave out things like book-covers, baseball cards, CD covers or statuary that serve the purpose of portraits for some articles. I'm also omitting group portraits and action shots (unless they are so portrait-like as to fit well with the posed portraits). 3/4 or full-body portraits that are posed to serve the purpose, though they don't really fit the "yearbook" scheme, are acceptable since they perform the same function. This creates some gray areas, so feel free to be bold or to open a discussion --Dystopos 12:41, 26 March 2009 (PDT)
