This is a List of Birmingham homicides in 1930. It includes homicide cases occurring within the city limits during the calendar year. Note that not all homicides are ultimately ruled to be murder in courts of law.

According to Kenneth Barnhart's survey of Jefferson County Board of Health statistics, Birmingham had 128 homicides in 1930, a rate of 49.1 per 100,000 population. Of those, 21 victims were white (13.0 per 100,000) and 107 were Black (107.2 per 100,000).

Listing

  • July 31: Louise Hall Wood was shot to death outside her home at 1922 9th Avenue South returning from the cinema with her mother. Her ex-husband, Ralph Wood, had lain in wait for her. After killing her, he walked into the street and shot himself to death.
