The UAB Center for Neurodegeneration and Experimental Therapeutics (CNET) is a research center at the UAB Heersink School of Medicine. The center was created in 2006 as a home for research led by David Standaert. It was chartered in 2007 and now encompasses 13 laboratories and 50 research staff working at the Civitan International Research Center and the Shelby Biomedical Research Building.

The Center for Neurodegeneration and Experimental Therapeutics conducts research into a variety of diseases including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, frontotemporal dementia, dementia with Lewy bodies, progressive supranuclear palsy, corticobasal degeneration, Huntington's disease, multiple system atrophy, and ALS.
