The Friends of the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, incorporated in 1964 as the Birmingham Botanical Society, is the operator of the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. The group promotes public knowledge about plants, gardens and the environment through the gardens' programs and facilities, and receives charitable donations to support that mission.
