21st Street Studios is a gallery and studio space in Birmingham located at 109 Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd. It has been open since 1982 and is owned by Sara Garden Armstrong.
Armstrong bought the three-story building in 1979 to use as her studio space. In 1982, Armstrong began to lease individual studio spaces to local artists. The 21st Studio Gallery is a exhibition space on the second floor of the building that exhibits the work of the residents of the 21st Street Studios.
In 2017, Ground Floor Contemporary opened on the first floor of the building. The gallery exhibits the work of local Birmingham artists.
