23rd Street Baptist Church was organized on January 23, 1902. Its current brick building at 331 23rd Street South was erected in 1929. It was designed by L. H. Persley & Co.. The builder was T. C. Windham & Son. It was placed on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage in 2016.
