Andy Craig is the interim superintendent for the Hoover school system.

Craig was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. He went to the University of Alabama in Huntsville for an accounting degree. While there, he met his wife and the two moved to Decatur. He worked as a bartender to pay his way through college. Craig's first accounting job was auditing for Arthur Andersen. He next worked for an accounting firm in Decatur for six years, eventually making partner. He then became director of finance for Decatur City Schools, a position he held for four years.

In 2001, Craig became assistant superintendent for finance and business in Hoover. The move was done in part for the quality education his two children would receive. Upon the firing of Connie Williams as superintendent, he was named interim superintendent. He currently has those duties in addition to his job as superintendent for finance. As of August 9, he had not decided whether to apply for the superintendent position permanently.

Craig and his wife have two children, a son and a daughter. In 2006, the son became a freshman in high school while the daughter entered seventh grade.
