Anne Herbert

Anne Herbert is a painter and visual art faculty at Alabama School of Fine Arts best known for works of large scale abstraction.

Originally from Auburn, Alabama, Herbert received her B.F.A. in painting from the University of Montevallo in 2007 and her M.F.A. in studio art in 2013 from the University of Alabama. In between her undergraduate and graduate education, she worked as Outreach Coordinator for the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts. She worked as a gallery coordinator for one of the University of Alabama galleries and co-owned and operated The Grocery, a studio, exhibit, and performance space on Main Avenue in Northport.

Herbert is an artist in residence at The Thomas Project. Recent exhibitions include solo shows at the Hoover Public Library, University of Mobile, Gallery 213 in Montevallo and the Gadsden Museum of Art. Herbert has had work selected for numerous group shows including the Wiregrass Biennial at the Wiregrass Museum of Art, the 29th Tallahassee International at Florida State University Museum of Art, the South Eastern College Art Conference exhibition, Marilyn Foley Art Gallery, University of Mobile and Presbyterian College in South Carolina.
