Birmingham Fire Station No. 20 is located on Avenue W between Madison Avenue Southwest and 47th Street Ensley.
Built in 1961 on the site of the department's old drill tower and training building, it was designed to provide up-to-date facilities for the Birmingham Fire Academy.
Station 20 offers fire protection for the neighborhoods of Fairview, Rising West-Princeton, Central Park, Oakwood Place, Ensley Highlands, and Arlington-West End.
