Chadwick University was an unaccredited distance-learning "diploma mill" founded by Lloyd Clayton in 1990. In August 2008, the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education, headed by chancellor Bradley Byrne, revoked Chadwick's license to offer degrees. The college listed an address at a Magnolia Avenue office building in Southside.
