Christ the King Lutheran Church is part of the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ denomination and is located at 611 Riverchase Parkway West at the intersection of Montgomery Highway in Hoover's Riverchase community. Christopher DeGreen has served as pastor of the congregation since 1990. Its building was designed by Lathan Associates Architects.

Initially part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the congregation joined Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ on March 25, 2007.
